Where do essential oils come from?

Q: What are essential oils and where do they come from?

A: Essential oils are liquid extracts derived plants, roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, stems, peels, bark, berries and resins that are historically known to offer therapeutic properties such as antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory. There have been numerous scientific research studies demonstrating these benefits (reference, - National Center for Biotechnology Information).

In addition, 100% pure essential oils are known to shift, alter, change, modify, enhance and manage mood, physical, mental and emotional concerns and behaviors. They not only provide a pleasant scent (in most cases), they may assist the body to function optimally by supporting immunity, providing cellular energy, relieving nervous system issues and promoting an overall sense of well-being. They have a reputation to relax the body, rejuvenate the mind and release negative emotions.

Hear more about the amazing benefits of aromatherapy and its integration into the health arena in my interview with Dr. Cathy Rosenbaum on Your Holistic Health Internet Radio Show,  It will air on Friday, July 5th at 6pm.
