Overcoming Crohn's Disease

Hi, my name is Jennifer Pressimone.  Many of you know me as the founder of JennScents and the former owner of the Clermont Herb Shop.  Some of you have heard my story but some of you might be surprised to know that before starting JennScents the top doctors at Shand's sent me home to die.

I battled Crohn's and Colitis almost 12 years ago, and struggled with foods I could tolerate. My story is similar to Jordan Rubin's, got sick, lost weight, was dying and not many options.  I managed over the years to seek out some healthier foods, but none that are the quality and convenience of Beyond Organic.

It was nice to have dairy again, and fat nutrient foods to helped me feel better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  It simplified my life from running around and researching foods that I could eat and absorb.

I do my grocery shopping every week with Beyond Organic, and buy in bulk when I can to save even more money. It is a great community of people who share recipes, health tips and motivate me to continue my health journey.

It also nice to be a part of something bigger, doing God's work and sharing with those that are less fortunate with their "Give a Meal, Get a Meal" program.

I've been able to share with my friends and family and earn income that helps me not only get my food for free, but build a part-time to full-time income.

I am blessed to be surrounded by incredible food, great business partners and empowerment for personal and professional growth.  If you would like to connect please email me anytime.

Living with Celiac Disease

Hi,
My name is Karen Walsh and I have Celiac's.

They say everything happens for a reason.  I really believe this. I was really sick for many years and none of the physicians I went to could find what was wrong with me.  They kept trying to treat my symptoms and not treat the cause.  I ended up in the hospital for 18 days, two operations, ICU and blood transfusions.  I was finally diagnosed with Celiac.

I had to go on a gluten free diet and this took me to the health food store.  I started researching everything I  needed to know to heal myself. Then to make things worse, my son at 17 was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis.  I found the book Patient Heal Thyself.  I was amazed at what Jordan Rubin had been through and how he persevered to heal himself.  I set off on my own journey to educate myself on natural healing.

I became certified as a Certified Natural Health professional and connected myself with other holistic professionals.  I knew I wanted to work in a business that had something to do with natural health.  I have a degree in Social Work and have always loved helping people improve their lives.  Now I wanted to help them improve their health.

I learned of a new company about to launch.  It was called Beyond Organic.  When I heard it was owned by Jordan Rubin, I said sign me up!  I knew his products were going to be of the highest quality and everything he does is to the glory of God.  Thats the kind of business I want to represent!

Recently, I had the opportunity to go to the Beyond Organic Ranch and it brought me to tears that one man is trying to change our food supply.  Thank you Jordan, your amazing! I love this company and the amazing foods.

We are Mission Marketers and are on a mission to help people improve their health through diet. I have met wonderful people along the way and with Gods help I am committed to helping this company grow. If you'd like to join me email me.  I would love to share this opportunity with you.

Amasai- Delicious, Easily Digestible

Amasai is a traditional food of the Maasai Tribe of East Africa.  It is a cultured dairy beverage renowned for nutrient density, digestibility and high probiotic and content.

Plus, at Beyond Organic all of our dairy comes from cows that eat grasses not grain and are never given hormones, steroids and antibiotics.  Each dairy cow is tested for A2 genetics.  If you or a loved one has given up dairy for health reasons, it would be worth your time to read about the benefits of A2 dairy.

Plain Amasai can be used in place of milk, buttermilk, or heavy cream for most recipes.  Rule of thumb is 2 parts water to 1 part Amasai for milk.  To use in place of buttermilk or cream it is an exact 1:1 ratio, so a cup of cream equals a cup of Amasai.

Amasai is great in smoothies, shakes, dressings, cheesecake, pancakes, and more.  Jordan even uses it to make  homemade ice cream & pieBe creative and send me your favorite recipe.  Here are a few that we hope you enjoy.

Homemade Sour Cream (courtesy of Denise D.)
1 cup  Amasai
1/4 cup white vinegar

In a screw-top jar or mason jar with lid, combine the Amasai and white vinegar. Shake the ingredients up a bit to thoroughly mix and let stand, covered, at room temperature for about 24 hours or until it becomes very thick.

You can store your sour cream in the refrigerator in the original jar you mixed it in (or use some other resealable container) for up to one week. Make sure that your sour cream is well chilled before using.

"Ranch" Style Salad Dressing (courtesy of LIsa G.)
1 C plain Amasai
1/2 C mayo (homemade with apple cider vinegar, olive oil, free-range eggs and sea salt so it's healthy)
1/2 T lemon jc.
1/2 T dried parsley or 2 T fresh
3/4 t Celtic sea salt
1 lg clove garlic pressed
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
1/2 tsp. xanthan gum

Blend all ingredients and place in the refrigerator to let the flavors blend a couple hours.  (If this recipe seems sour to your tastebuds, leave out the lemon jc.)

Sprouted Grain Pancakes (courtesy Bill R.)
Use Arrowhead Mills Sprouted Grain Pancake Flour, substitute butter or applesauce for the canola oil.  Use Amasai instead of milk.  Top with organic butter and Grade B maple syrup.
Plain Amasai is sold in packs of 6 or in the variety pack (includes 2 bottles of each flavor.)  Email me if you need help logging in to your account.

Former Chamber Director On Healthy Eating

Independent Mission Marketer Jane Patton joined Beyond Organic because she loves the company’s nutritious foods and wants to share Beyond Organic’s mission with others. Her path to healthy living has inspired her to grow fruits and vegetables in her organic garden and make her own kombucha.
She has discovered the benefits of papaya leaf tea, easily steeped from three or four fresh leaves, so her papaya trees stay nicely trimmed! The Haas avocado tree she started from seed has grown to 40 feet tall in six years, producing an abundance of this healthy fruit.
Jane recently resigned her seven-year position as president of the Haines City-Northeast Polk County Regional Chamber Commerce to move with her husband to Punta Gorda. During her chamber tenure, Jane worked with entrepreneurs interested in starting their own businesses. She shared networking techniques and suggestions to help business owners grow their bottom line. She is now focusing on building a great Beyond Organic team and believes the company’s amazing new products provide an outstanding business opportunity for anyone willing to join her on the journey.

Tampa's Going Green Guru

Living a green lifestyle is important to Lisa Custer, founder of Going Green. She has always strongly believed in recycling, reusing and avoiding consumerism. This is one of the reasons she started the website, GoingGreenTampa.com and is a partner in The Recycled Jeans Shop.

Lisa wanted to help get the word out about eco-friendly companies and events in the Tampa area in order to attract the mainstream consumer. She has since been chosen as a 2012 recipient for the Earth Charter Awards and sponsored numerous eco-friendly events in the greater Tampa area.

Along with that, Lisa believes that we should be nourishing our bodies with the best foods we can get. Although she is not a vegetarian, she would forgo eating meat at most meals simply because she does not like the factory farm product. She wants to know where her food comes from and that it was raised in a clean environment. This has lead her to be a loyal customer at many local CSA's and Co-op's. Over the past year, she has found herself talking more and more about the importance of knowing your food source as well as learning more about a nutrient dense diet and educating yourself on the role that diet plays in our health.

She is encouraged by Beyond Organic’s mission of changing the way we eat and is excited to be with a company that is passionate about educating and nourishing the consumer. She chose to be a part of Beyond Organic because of the passion that Jordan Rubin has for health and the quality, benefits and convenience of the products. Her family enjoys the products and she doesn't have to worry about what is in it before she gives it to them.

The Suero Cleanse

When it comes to cleanses, I have done them all! Herbal, juice, wheatgrass, lemon juice, colonic, emotional, technological... So when Jordan Rubin, author of Living Beyond Organic and founder of Beyond Organic (a new food company) suggested a Suero Fast, I said Game On.

The fast consists of drinking 8oz of Suero Viv (cultured whey/essential oil beverage) every hour for 12 hours. We tried it yesterday as a family- me, my dog, and husband. I could only get down 32oz and had to stop because I was worried if I drank anymore I wouldn't be able to sleep. My husband Bill was able to drink 80 oz- the goal was 96oz. My dog drank 4oz and then demanded dinner.

So, even from our partial fast (we ended up eating a couple of sardines and an sprouted grain english muffin w/raw cheddar) we felt great. Cultured whey (different from isolated whey found in protein drinks) has been used for centuries as an all over curative. It was made popular by spas and healing resorts in Switzerland.

Cultured whey is a great source of potassium, flushes excess sodium (ie, ladies- helps with swelling) and is great for the lymphatic system (cellulite is the first thing that comes to mind here.) Clearing the lymphatic system can be beneficial for things like allergies, breast swelling, menstrual disorders, prostate issues, swollen hands, feet and legs. To learn more about the benefits of cultured whey check out the writings of Christopher Vasey.

So, after my personal experience I decided to create a modified version of the fast and incorporate it into a whole body cleanse. You can do this cleanse with any of your favorite seasonal herbal cleanses or by itself. And remember, while you don't necessarily need to fast from all foods, making better food choices will only enhance the effects. So, watch the sugar, wheat, and alcohol.

Suero Cleanse
Start with 4oz of Suero Viv on Day One. Increase to 16 oz (one bottle) on Day Two and add one additional bottle per day until you reach 4 bottles per day for women/6 bottles for men. Stay on that amount for 2-3 days and then back down by one bottle per day. After that 1/2-2 bottles per day maintenance as needed.

A few things to expect might be increased bowel activity and urination. This has been the most common comment so far. Overall feeling of not being puffy, stagnant with increased energy, stamina and overall sense of well-being. Diminished food cravings, feeling of satiety. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences.

Keep in mind the standard disclaimer, check with your doctor first, info provided only for educational and entertainment purposes. We do not prescribe, diagnose or make any claims.

You can pick up Suero Viv at many Herb Shoppes, Chiropractic Offices, Natural Health Practitioner offices and other specialty groups. Order online at The Health Chic Market or find someone near you.

Beyond Organic on a Budget

I received a note from one of our team members this week expressing concern that eating whole foods and beyond organically seemed impossible to do given limited financial means. Not the first time that I have helped a mom desperate to feed her children healthy nutritious foods make some tough food choices.

Believe it or not, I have had to make those exact same decisions for my family over the past decade. I love being a small business owner but sometimes the allure of "only" a $10 per hour regular paycheck has its appeal. Having to close your business unexpectedly for a few days due bad hurricanes, a dramatic sudden decline in customers when gas prices hit an all time high and other financial woes have at times had me making those same tough choices. At the end of the day we each have to ask ourselves, "how much can I afford to spend on food today?"

One of Jordan Rubin's goals for his new company, Beyond Organic is one million people feeding their families for free. My team is made up of primarily moms on a tight budget that truly understand the importance of nutrient dense whole foods. Their challenge is either finding them, paying for them or both. Beyond Organic offers solutions to both dilemma's- great food delivered to your door and an easy, affordable business model to help pay for your personal consumption.

A $40 investment is all it takes to get started. The $40 package includes a state of the art website and shopping cart. By sharing the message of the value of these nutritious foods with friends, family, and co-workers it shouldn't be long before you receive your first paycheck.

With this first paycheck I would buy one case of Amasai. Wholesale cost is $5 per bottle, add a buck each for shipping and it works out to $1.33 per 2oz serving. 2oz is the size of most popsicle molds- try to spring for the BPA-free ones. Make Amasai popsicles for your kids. Share the idea with two of your friends or neighbors and talk about the health benefits (basic info, more to follow.) Then offer one of your bottles at the cost of $9 each. If their kids like it- and we all know that they will then they can buy their own case as a preferred customer from your website and save. If you sell 4 bottles then you've paid for two for your family. It's that easy.

Granted, two bottles of Amasai per month doesn't constitute feeding your family for free. But two bottles is better than none and all of a sudden a Beyond Organic small part-time business just became a lot more obtainable as far as time and financial investment. It might take longer to build this way but remember- this is a ground floor opportunity. Imagine where you can be in a few years if you start now.

Beyond Organic, Reign Supreme Mountain Spring Water, Optimal Food and Drink for Optimal Living

"You're not sick; you're thirsty. Don't treat thirst with medication" according to Dr, F. Batmanghelidj, author and Water Cure advocate.

Imagine pure, natural water bubbling up from the earth, similar to what the ancients drank every day. That is what may be found in Jordan Rubin’s Reign Supreme Mountain Spring Water. Coming soon in October 2011.

Why is water so important for us to drink? Here is what the U.S. Department of Interior says,

“Water is of major importance to all living things; in some organisms, up to 90% of their body weight comes from water. Up to 60% of the human body is water, the brain is composed of 70% water, and the lungs are nearly 90% water. Lean muscle tissue contains about 75% water by weight, as is the brain; body fat contains 10% water and bone has 22% water. About 83% of our blood is water, which helps digest our food, transport waste, and control body temperature. Each day humans must replace 2.4 litres of water, some through drinking and the rest taken by the body from the foods eaten."

Water is essential to living, thinking and everything our bodies need to do to survive. We can not function properly without enough intake for our bodies. Average daily intake required for each person is calculated by one's health condition, activity level, age, and other factors. Without enough water, the body will become dehydrated. Dehydration is known to cause: headaches, stomach aches, constipation, muscle pain, fatigue, mental confusion, heart palpitations and a plethora of other symptoms. Water assists every major system in the body with its functions for life and sustenance. It is vital to our survival and well-being.

Everyone needs water. Why not have the purest form you can find? Beyond Organic will offer pure, natural water from their pristine spring. If you want to know more about the products that will be offered or to see how you can become a consumer or independent mission marketer for Beyond Organic, please see the links below.
